Yes. Candidates must have a Letter of Approval (LOA) written on their behalf to become ordained, and ministers must receive a new Letter of Approval every time they renew their ordination. The information that must be included in an LOA is the same for both ordination and renewal, and the eligibility requirements for who can write an LOA are the same for both ordination and renewal.
A Letter of Approval should not be confused with a Recommendation for Candidacy, although the rules for who is eligible to write an LOA and who is eligible to recommend someone for candidacy are the same.
